The return of an in-person Commencement has allowed us to revive a graduation tradition: inviting an Alumni Delegation to march, and bear witness to the next generation of New Schoolers during the ceremony.
Delegates represent our global alumni body and provide inspiration and welcome to the newest cohort of New School graduates. Members of the Delegation will be celebrated alongside our 2022 graduates, and will be recognized by The New School Board of Trustees, Faculty, and Professor and University President, Dr. Dwight A. McBride.Â
We especially hope that alumni from the classes of 2020 and 2021, who persevered through the COVID-19 pandemic, will march in this year’s ceremony! Additionally alumni, especially leaders, volunteers, mentors, and those celebrating milestone reunion years—classes of 2017, 2012, 2007, 2002, 1997, 1992, 1987, 1982, 1977, and 1972—are encouraged to participate. If your degree was confirmed during Fall or Winter 2021, please register with the 2022 graduates.
To march at Commencement as part of the Alumni Delegation, kindly register and indicate whether you have your own New School regalia to wear. If you need to order new regalia, you can do so within the form. Stay tuned for additional information regarding where and when you can pick up your cap and gown.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
